Counselling
Taking steps towards a happier, healthier and more healed version of yourself.
What is Counselling?
Counselling offers a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment.
It can help you make sense of difficulties, process past pain, and develop healthier ways of coping and relating. Through this process, you can gain greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and a much stronger sense of what truly matters to you.
Whether you’re facing poor mental health, anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, or simply seeking personal growth, counselling can guide you toward healing and resilience, whether this is simply through talking or whether this is by arming you with techniques and tools that help you to face the world as a stronger, more skilled version of yourself.
Counselling invites us to slow down and begin to look inward, which in turn allows us to make sense of our internal and external world, exploring the layers of emotion, beliefs, and experiences that shape your life. Counselling is not always easy but it is one of the most worthwhile things you could ever do for yourself. Healing arises naturally when someone is truly heard and is an active participant in their own journey. Old patterns begin to loosen and a capacity for authenticity and connection deepens.

Pluralistic Counselling
Pluralistic counselling is a holistic and flexible approach that recognises there is no single path to healing or growth.
Every person is unique, and what helps one individual may not help another in the same way. The Pluralistic approach honours this individuality by drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches, primarily using person centred, cognitive behavioural (CBT), psychodynamic and solution focused practices.
It is my belief that true healing comes from the mental, physical and spiritual aspects of our lives fulfilling us in the way we need. Therefore, we will collaboratively explore your inner & outer world from an emotional, cognitive and somatic perspective to find what most deeply resonates. Sessions may focus on gentle reflection or inner dialogue; others may invite grounding, body awareness, or activities to challenge your thoughts and behaviours. The process unfolds organically, guided by your rhythm and readiness.
Pluralistic counselling sees healing as a co-created journey, one that respects both the importance of evidence-based methods and the wisdom of your own intuition. It’s less about fixing and more about remembering: finding balance, authenticity, and the connection to yourself.
Psychotherapy is a longer-term process of exploring the deeper layers of your current difficulties, uncovering the roots of patterns that may have been shaping your life for years without you even knowing. This isn't just about problem solving but requires a complete review and un-picking of your life to help root out the core issues you face. It helps you to foster a sense of self, engage in emotional growth and lasting inner change, being able to draw connections between different times and events within your life and take real leaps towards healing the pain.
Often individuals with a history of trauma and adverse experiences benefit greatly from Psychotherapy. When we go through painful or overwhelming experiences, parts of us can become frozen in time holding the emotions, sensations, and beliefs that once helped us survive. Psychotherapy offers a safe and steady space to begin gently meeting those parts of yourself with care and understanding. Rather than re-living the pain, the process allows you to slowly integrate what was once too much to hold alone. Through this healing relationship, your nervous system can find safety again, your body can soften, and your sense of trust and connection can begin to return.
Psychotherapy offers a safe, sacred space to explore what lies beneath the surface of everyday life. It’s a process of uncovering; bringing awareness, compassion, and light to the parts of you that have been hidden, silenced, or forgotten.

FAQs
What happens first ?
The first point of call is to understand who you are and what brought you to counselling. I will also look to understand a bit about your past history of mental health and what support you have received before (if any!). Most importantly I will look to understand your goals, hopes and intentions for therapy - what are you looking to get out of these sessions.
How long does each session last?
What Kind of Issues can Your Calling counselling help with?
This depends on your goals and personal circumstances. Some people benefit from short-term counselling (6–12 sessions), while others prefer ongoing therapy for deeper exploration or long-term support. We will have regular milestone check-ins to discuss whether sessions are working for you, whether progress is being made and whether new goals have arisen through the process.
Where will the session be held?
Sessions can be held via remote video call, or in person depending on your preference and location. The aim is to create a focused, supportive, and comfortable space for reflection and growth.

Counselling will not diagnose you. We will discuss themes, possible approaches, or recommend particular types of therapy, but the focus remains on collaboration and personal insight rather than medical labelling.
Will I receive a diagnosis?
What if I feel nervous or unsure?
That’s completely natural. Many people feel anxious before their first meeting. It takes courage to take this step and I fully appreciate the strength it takes to seek support. I will ensure you are heard and respected throughout the process. You’re welcome to express any hesitations, questions or even challenges at any time.
Will counselling make me feel better right away?
Sometimes you may feel relief after talking, but counselling can also stir up strong emotions before things start to feel clearer. Healing and growth take time but I am here to support you through the ups and downs.
What is the price?
Sessions are priced dependant on income with a starting price of £50 and a maximum price of £75. I also offer low income slots which can be discussed subject to availability.
